My new favorite neighbors, who call themselves “Those Guys” at karaoke, sang Taking Back Sunday’s “Make Damn Sure” and I screamed “CAN I JOIN YOU?! I’ve seen TBS live like 5 times!!” and they said yes so I did and it was awesome. Also sang Everclear’s “Father of Mine” in honor of Father’s Day.
I requested “Call Me Maybe” at karaoke, so hopefully I can sing it next weekend. I didn’t sing tonight, but instead had some Beam (pictured) and watched that chick from Baylor “who can dunk!” not get into a fight. I was disappointed.
Also, I went to a party tonight for Housing Works volunteers. Have I mentioned that I’ve been volunteering in the cafe at HW Bookstore on here? I feel like no. Anyway, it’s really awesome and any of you in the NYC-area should look into becoming a volunteer! It’s a good cause (helping people with HIV/AIDS), it’s only a few hours every week (4 hours or more), you can learn cool things (like how to make a latte!) and you meet so many cool people. Also, they have a lot of cool events (I’ve been to a reading, a concert and a movie screening at the bookstore) and a bunch of thrift stores around the city (my sister volunteers at one of them). And I just want you guys to know, since I’m never overly promotional on this blog (am I?? I hope not!), I’m serious about this.
Why not “Private Eyes”!!?!??!?!?!?!?!!???
a) Because he has THE BEST Macy Gray voice I have ever heard!
b) I always thought it was “I walk bubbles when you are not here” because I’m dumb.

I was Daria/Nelly for pre-Halloween karaoke on Sunday. Basically normal clothes I already own that happen to be similar looking to Daria’s wardrobe plus a bandaid on my face. I sang “Dilemma” and scared some older ladies eating dinner probably. Also somehow I ended up maybe stealing a Coors Light t-shirt from one of the waiters.
