"[Scocca] recognized the value of hope, of playing every game, of grinding it all out with the possibility of something great happening, when it’s all compiled. That’s what has happened for the Orioles this season. It may end up in just one ‘playoff’ game on Friday and that’s it. Or it may be more. That we’re even here at all is amazing, and yet another reason baseball is so freaking great."
Yesterday the Orioles ended their 14-year losing streak, I ate the most glorious french toast/cheese/bacon sandwich while watching Ja Rule music videos and my best friend attempted to bring back the side pony.
"Twelve in a row in extra innings. Nine scoreless innings from six relievers. The Orioles are tied for a wild-card spot and are just 4.5 games behind the Yankees. Baseball. I’m done making predictions. The more we know the less we know."
"…the World Series pennant easily goes to a renewed, undefeated Baltimore Orioles who win game after game with a solid pitching bullpen that delivers repeated no-hitters and a batting line-up that is so reliably consistent that games devolve into home run derbies."
